About
Lisa Ramfjord Elstun
My
first introduction to design and sewing was by my grandmother. She
taught me how to make doll clothes from fabric scraps of the outfits
she was making me. Mrs. Goryance, my eighth-grade home economics
teacher, refined my couture skills in her class where I vividly
remember the painstaking construction of French seams on a cotton
voile nightgown. I still have the scissors my mother purchased for
that class!
Starting 25 years
ago, I fashioned little girls’ dresses and christening gowns
for a small boutique in Iowa. A professional career move relocated
my family and I to Denver, where it was difficult to find stylish
ready-to-wear clothes so I created my own wardrobe. In addition
to numerous compliments, my sewing passion also provided stress
relief from a demanding and rewarding career.
Three years ago
I launched my venture full-time adding design and construction of
home fashions. LRE Couture & Design conveys a fresh modern look
to wardrobes and residences. Contemporary or traditional in a colorful
mix of understated elegance, each custom designed article is also
an original art piece. As a collaborative designer, my clients’
dilemmas become solutions by design, best described as “classic
with a twist”!
