About
Armando Thomas Guerra
ARMANDO THOMAS GUERRA, born
in Denver, Colorado, found fashion as a form of self-expression,
and an outlet for creative energy. His obsession in the construction
of clothing forced him to learn to sew, study patterns, and ultimately
start to design. After winning the Auraze portfolio contest in 1999,
Armando moved to New York City with a position as head designer
for the growing juiniorwear company. Living out of a hotel the first
year, Armando discovered the ins-and-outs of the fashion industry.
In a whirlwind of patternmakers, sample rooms, trade shows, and
opening major accounts with national and international buyers, he
got his education on the job, right off 7th Avenue, in the heart
of The Garment District. After three-and-a-half years with Auraze,
Armando returned to native ground. The change of pace was invigorating
and gave him fresh creative inspiration. In Spring 2002 Armando
launched his private collection Love Mondo Trasho with great acclaim.
in Fall 2003 Armando was awarded "Young Designer 2003"
for the Rocky Mountain region by Fashion Group International. In
Fall/Winter 2004 Armando decided to get out of his comfort zone,
detour from womenswear, and show his first menswear collection.
Love Mondo Trasho has set a standard for the Denver fashionistas
and plans to keep pushing fashion foward.
